The DoorKing 9210 is a Class III and Class IV maximum security vehicular slide gate operator rated for gates up to 3,000 lbs and 100 ft in length. Powered by a 1 HP motor through a 40:1 continuous oil bath gearbox, the 9210 is the entry-level operator in the DoorKing 9200 maximum security series and is specified for government facilities, military installations, airports, correctional facilities, secured industrial perimeters, and other Class III or IV access control points where gate weight and length fall within its rated capacity. This is not a residential or general public-serving product — Class III and IV designate limited and restricted access applications only.

40:1 Fail-Secure Gearbox

The 9210 is a fail-secure operator. An electrical interlock prevents the gate from starting during manual operation, and the gate cannot be driven by the operator when the manual release is engaged. This is the correct security posture for restricted-access installations where gate movement must be under controlled authorization at all times.

Gate Weight and Chain Configuration

Gate weight capacity depends on chain and mounting selection. With #50 chain on a pad or pedestal mount, the 9210 handles gates up to 2,000 lbs. With #60 chain, capacity increases to 3,000 lbs — but the heavy-duty mounting pedestal (9200-135) is required. The pedestal is also required for any installation using the chain tray kit. For gates over 1,500 lbs, the heavy-duty pedestal is recommended regardless of chain selection. The operator ships with chain brackets, hardware, and 20 ft of #50 or #60 chain.

Fixed Speed Operation

The 9210 operates at a fixed speed of approximately 1 ft/sec (10–12 inches/sec). There is no variable speed adjustment — this is a straightforward, mechanically consistent drive suited to the gate weights and access control applications in this class. The solid-state motor relay control eliminates relay contacts that can wear out or burn, reducing maintenance requirements over the operator's service life.

Electrical and Control

The 9210 accepts 115, 208, 230, or 460 VAC input, providing broad installation flexibility across facility power configurations. Features include adjustable partial open, anti-tailgating, selectable stop/reverse loop function, direct-driven limit switches for precise gate control, a power boost start circuit, and built-in power and reset switches. Two 115 VAC outlets and two plug-in loop detector ports (DKS detectors only) are integrated.

Gate Tracker Reporting

The 9210 includes Gate Tracker output compatible with DKS 1833, 1835, 1837, and 1838 access control systems (2358 expansion board required) for centralized operator monitoring across multi-gate facilities.

The 9210 is ETL Listed by Intertek, Made in the USA, and backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Housing is G90 galvanized steel painted charcoal grey with a stainless steel access door. Operating range: 10°F to 140°F (-12°C to 62°C).

The 9210 is the entry-level model in the DoorKing 9200 series — the right specification for Class III/IV applications involving gates up to 3,000 lbs and 100 ft.
